Who am I
or rather, Who am I becoming?
A degree in theatrical Scenic Design plus 25 years of carpentry, and general contracting experience provide the base.
A want for winter warmth, to build our home, and a desire to live closer to nature’s rhythms led us to the forests of Bastrop, Texas.
We built the little cabin in the soaring pines and witnessed its destruction by wildfire. Then came: drought, hurricane, and flood.
These little Minnesotans wouldn’t give up though. Today stands Pas de Neige - a physical example of our stewardship and love of this place.
After the fire, I salvaged 100’s of burnt Eastern Red Cedar trees and gave them new purpose as custom elements in our re-built home:
flooring, furniture, display areas, structural elements, siding and decking - all from log to finished product - made on site.
I call it the Complex Fire Collection and continue to find new uses for this amazing resource. Furniture, literally, reclaimed from the ashes.
My journey continues with Aweshrammente: a new venture creating unique functional art pieces.
Crafted with intention - inspired by Awe.
